GROUP CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER, ARMEXIS


Jonathan French is a qualified barrister with more than twenty-nine years of experience specialising in business, commercial and property-related matters.
He has acted for a wide range of clients, including public limited companies, SMEs, large family businesses, blue-chip organisations and multinational corporations. His legal practice has included complex commercial matters, litigation, negotiation, dispute resolution and strategic legal advisory work.
Jonathan brings to ARMEXIS a deep understanding of business imperatives, commercial risk, legal strategy and negotiation. His experience acting for organisations of all sizes provides the Group with strong legal, commercial and governance capability at Board level.
As Group Chief Legal Officer, Jonathan is responsible for overseeing the legal strategy of ARMEXIS and supporting the commercial delivery of the business. His role includes advising on legal risk, contractual matters, compliance, governance, commercial negotiations, dispute management and the legal frameworks required to support the Group’s growth.
Jonathan also contributes to the development of internal control structures, ethical business conduct, regulatory compliance and risk management across the Group. His experience ensures that ARMEXIS approaches major commercial decisions with legal discipline, strategic clarity and appropriate governance.
Jonathan holds an LLB Honours degree from the University of Manchester and a Master’s degree in Law. He is also an accredited mediator and has previously lectured in law.
He has been recommended in both Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.
Jonathan sits on the Board of Directors and is a shareholder.
